Summer Happenings

I get so excited when an Anthropologie package comes in the mail. I know what I ordered and I've been expecting it for days, but I still feel like I'm unwrapping an exciting unknown gift. This was what came in my package for the summer:

What an exciting day!

Recently I took an aerial dance class, worked, swam a while in our pool, worked, took ballet, worked, helped some friends move in down the street, worked, let our pup swim in the pool (which he did not enjoy as much as most dogs do...), worked, and now Austin and I are heading to the snow cone stand for a nice summer treat.

Nearly June!?

How is May almost gone already!? Even though time passes so slowly when I am bored at work, time really does fly by.

Austin and I have had a great start to our summer. We are enjoying getting to see each other more often than when we both have school and work. It's SO nice!

We also adopted a new kitty and named her Zoe. We didn't intend to adopt her (I'm not lying...). She showed up on our doorstep one night when we were finishing yard work and she didn't want to leave. She had no identification tags so we put up 'CAT FOUND' posters. No calls... So we took her to the vet to check her health and now we've decided to keep her. She gets along fairly well with our other cat, Dan, and our pup, Ponce.

We've also had plenty of visitors already this summer. Austin's cousin Tiffany visited us. We spent the whole day shopping, getting manicures (not Austin...), ice skating, and attending a dance recital of the studio I teach at. Now Austin's brother, Alex, is vis
iting. They are playing video games and probably will be until the wee hours of the morning. Joy.

While they have been playing video games I have been searching for swimsuits. I LOVE this J.Crew swim top, but I am not quite finished searching all of my favorite swim sites... Its a very pretty color, though...

Tomorrow I look forward to getting a haircut, possibly seeing my parents, telling my brother
and sister-in-law 'happy 1st wedding anniversary', and cooking for some friends. Happy Memorial Day!

All Grown Up.

Wow. I am now a college graduate! It doesn't feel much different, actually. I'm going to work and dance this summer... but not go back to classes in the fall. Maybe that is when it will hit me. I feel really old now, though. Reasons:
I am married.
I have to pay our bills... lots of bills.
I have 2 pets (they seem like kids).
I have a college degree.
I have a full-time job.
I have to clean up after myself.
And do my own laundry.
And dishes.
I have a garden (yes, that makes me feel older).
We have an upright piano in our living room (it used to be my grandma's).
And now a pool in the backyard.
The pool is a new thing. Austin and I just decided to purchase a pool for
the summer. It was 50% off, but still expensive. We think it will be worth it. Pools are a lot of upkeep, though! It will be nice to relax on a floating bed while reading a book in the sun, and maybe take a few laps for exercise. We'll have to see how this pans out...
